Matthew Taylor is an Australian composer, arranger and teacher based near Melbourne. Matthew studied Music Education at Deakin University, completing an Associate Diploma in Education (Music) specialising in studio music teaching. His main, and most loved instrument, is the flute. Matthew was taught by Ann Cecil-Sterman and Nicky Newton. Matthew also plays and teaches clarinet, saxophone, and other woodwind instruments.
Since graduating University in 1992, Matthew has had a diverse music teaching career. He has taught privately, in classrooms at both primary and secondary schools, and at studios in and around the Geelong and Western Victoria region. Matthew has also developed an interest in Music Technology, working to combine this with standard teaching techniques in order to capture the interest and keep the attention of today’s students.
